MOAS 2010

Spring 2010

A select group of students representing the Texas State University-San Marcos MOAS team, traveled to Washington, D.C. to participate in the National gathering of MOAS students. Student participants from throughout the Americas attend this event. While in attendance Professor Ben Arnold received several accolades on his team’s performance. No awards are given at this venue; however, one student participant was elected Chair of the Administrative and Budgetary Affairs Committee for Spring of 2011. We are very proud of each and every one of our MOAS student representatives.

Team members:

Fall 2010

The San Antonio, Texas Model of which we attended from November 4-6, 2010, produced seven awards out of ten possible. I am immensely proud of our student competitors. Texas State University received more first place awards- and more awards in general- than any other university present at competition. In addition, two Texas State University students were elected at large to serve as Secretary General and President of the entire 2011 San Antonio Model. We can be proud of all the students that participated, as their representation of Texas State was exemplary.

Prior to the Fall Model, for the first time ever, Texas State University hosted the Parliamentary Procedure Workshop. Not only was this endeavor a privilege, but it was a great success as well. We worked very hard to impress our guests. Accordingly, we received many accolades from attendees- and an open invitation to assist with the official Fall Model. Over 60 students from six schools attended the workshop.
