Four graduate students from the department presented their research at Texas State University’s 9th annual International Research Conference for Graduate Students on November 7th and 8th.
- Master of Arts in Political Science Amy Perry presented her research on “Factors in Rejection of Presidential Nominees to the U.S. Supreme Court.”
- Master of Arts in Legal Studies student James Kemp presented a case study on BP that explored the use of charter revocation as a means to stopping corporate criminal activity
- Master of Public Administration student Reginald Brooks presented on “An Exploratory Framework to Assess Urban Wildfire Mitigation Policy in Austin, Texas.”
- Master of Public Administration student Jose Olvera presented his research on the coercive, extractive, and conductive capacities of Mexican Political Institutions.
Mr. Olvera’s advice to graduate students who may be thinking about presenting next year is simple: “Do it. At a time when there are serious attempts to undermine the truth all over the world, there isn’t a better time than right now to share your research with others. It is also a great learning experience and good practice that will further develop your skills.”
