The department’s Dr. Tom Varacalli has been selected as the August Namesake for Bobcat Preview. Preview Namesakes are selected based on their dedication to student success and are nominated entirely by students each year. The recognition captures Varacalli’s “positive impact on the campus and its students,” and his “overall outstanding impact on both students and the campus community.” Dr. Varacalli will be introduced to new students in the Class of 2025 at the Bobcat Kickoff event Wednesday, August 18.
Bobcat Preview is an informative transition program for incoming students to allow them to start building a sense of belonging here at Texas State. Having completed its 21st year, the program provides an opportunity for new students to meet future classmates, interact with current student leaders, participate in events to build connections to each other and the university, and receive tips for being successful both in and out of the classroom.
