On December 7th, the San Marcos City Council named Stephanie Reyes San Marcos’ Interim City Manager following current City Manager Bert Lumbreras’ retirement.
Since graduating in 2001 from the department’s Masters in Public Administration (MPA) Program, Reyes has remained active in the program. A member of the MPA Program’s Alumni Advisory Board, she has served on numerous Applied Research Project Committees and delivered talks for Texas State’s ICMA (International City/Council Management Association) student chapter. Dr. Nandhini Rangarajan, the director of the MPA program, said that she is “incredibly proud of Ms. Reyes’ accomplishments in public service,” adding that “her ascent to this new position is very well deserved” given “the utmost diligence with which she performs everything she undertakes” and “how genuinely devoted she is to San Marcos’ growth and progress.”
A life-long San Marcos resident, Reyes has a track record of 20 years of service in San Marcos city government.
