LaVonia Horne-Williams, a graduate of the Legal Studies Program, was recently elected to the Buda City Council in December 2021. This accomplishment follows a dense history of involvement in Buda city politics: since 2016, LaVonia has served on the City of Buda Historic Preservation Commission, the City of Buda Charter Committee, the City of Buda Human Services Grant Committee, and the Buda Police Foundation Board. She currently serves on the City’s Economic Development Corporation Board where she is committed to providing leadership in creating and pursuing balanced economic growth by recruiting and retaining desirable, diverse businesses and developing infrastructure, while protecting the quality of life and natural resources in the region. LaVonia currently serves as Construction Contracts and Procurement Services Manager for Austin ISD.
