On Thursday, February 17th, Pi Sigma Alpha (PSA) hosted Austin Prochko and Sam Pohl of the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) as they spoke to more than 30 students and faculty. PSA president Nick James interviewed the two about their careers in public policy and politics. They discussed political involvement, the importance of networking, and the need for increased political engagement from younger generations. Dr. Wheatland, who attended the event, noted that “the conversation with TPPF was a great opportunity for students to learn what political careers are out there and how they can get their start” and commended the speakers for being “very generous with their time and knowledge.”
Chapter Rho Eta of Pi Sigma Alpha is the national political science honor society chapter at Texas State University. Open to eligible political science, public administration, and legal studies majors and minors, Pi Sigma Alpha’s goal is to connect those interested in politics and policy with a wide variety of professionals from across the state and help its members get jobs, internships, and experience before and after college.
