College Recognizes Political Science Students

On April 27^th, the College of Liberal Arts hosted their annual Awards Ceremony to honor students for their excellence in academics and character. The Department of Political Science was well represented.

The following is a list of our students who were recognized at the ceremony:

Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award in Political Science

Outstanding Graduate Student Award in Political Science

Elektra Jordan received the Richard B. Henderson Award, awarded for academic excellence and character in the tradition of Distinguished Professor Emeritus Henderson.

Chelsea Johnson and Jessica Myers received the Howard M. “Prof’ Greene Award, awarded for academic excellence in honor of a political mentor to Lyndon B. Johnson and many Other Texas State alumni.

Sandra Trujillo Gaytan, Tyler Hemenger, and Liam Trapane received the Barney and Linda Knight Scholarship which is awarded to students majoring in political science or business who have persevered in the face of adversity, overcome financial challenges, and demonstrated academic success.

Alexandra Pearce received the Walter Richeter Scholarship, awarded to full time students majoring in political science or journalism demonstrating academic merit.

Hunter Davis and Jordan Villareal received the Daniel Farlow Scholarship, which honors a longtime political science faculty member and Piper professor.
