Deborah Billy Gillis-Harry, a graduate of our Legal Studies Program, was awarded a national scholarship for law school from the Federal Bar Association. Deborah, a first-year law student at University of Houston Law School, was one of two students to receive the 2023 Dr. J. Clay Smith Jr. Diversity in the Legal Profession Scholarship. She is joined by Kevin Chisolm II, a first-year student at Yale Law School, in receiving this $15,000 scholarship.
