POSI Public Administration Professor Attends Regents Luncheon

On February 17, Dr. Patricia Shields of the department’s public administration program, attended the Texas State University System Regents’ Professor Luncheon. She and fellow Regents’ professors met to discuss ways they can collectively serve the students and faculty of the Texas State University System.

The System’s highest faculty honor, the Regents’ Professor Award, is conferred upon professors who demonstrate excellence and exemplary achievement in the areas of teaching, research and publication, and service. Dr. Shields was recognized in 2020, when she was one of only three faculty members across the state to be named a “Regents’ Professor.”

The Texas State University System, founded in 1911, consists of seven institutions educating more than 86,000 students. Member institutions include Lamar University, Sam Houston State University, Sul Ross State University, Texas State University, Lamar Institute of Technology, Lamar State College Orange, and Lamar State College Port Arthur.
