On Friday, August 23 the College of Liberal Arts held its annual Fall Faculty Meeting. During this meeting, faculty members from each of the nine departments within the college were honored by various awards. Dr. Lynn Crossett, an associate professor in the department, received a College Achievement Award in recognition of his exceptional service to the department and profession. Dr. Crossett has served for almost two decades as director of the Master of Arts in Legal Studies program and currently serves as the department’s associate chair. Dr. Franzi Newell, an assistant professor in the department, received a College Achievement Award in recognition of her scholarship. Her book, State Behavior and the International Criminal Court: Between Cooperation and Resistance, was published by Routledge in 2022.
A number of faculty from the department were recognized for their years of service to the university:
- Michael Faber (10 years)
- Paul DeHart (15 years)
- Omar Sanchez (15 years)
- Sherri Mora (20 years)
- Kenneth Grasso (35 years)
- Arnold Leder (50 years)
Department chair Ken Grasso observed that these awards underscored “the strength of our extraordinary, dedicated faculty and their commitment to the university and our students, as well as their achievements in the area of scholarship.”
