Political Science Tables at College of Liberal Arts Course Fair

The College of Liberal Arts hosted a Course Fair on Wednesday, October 2 in the LBJ Student Center Ballroom from 1:00-4:00pm. The Department of Political Science joined the other eight departments within the college in manning tables with swag, resources about available degrees, and information about classes scheduled for Spring 2025. Dr. Roger Abshire, Dr. William DeSoto, Dr. Vance McMahan, and Dr. Omar Sanchez-Sibony were present to meet with dozens of students, answer their questions, and promote opportunities for the upcoming semester and beyond. Students were able to mingle with faculty and peers across the departments while enjoying refreshments provided by the College of Liberal Arts. One student shared how helpful it can be to put faculty faces to names and have the opportunity to learn more about specific classes they are considering taking.

Among the highlighted courses were PS 4320C: Freedom in America with Dr. DeSoto; PS 4325: Texas Politics with Dr. McMahan; PS 4340D: Mexican Politics with Dr. Sanchez-Sibony; and PS 3355: International Human Rights with Dr. Franziska Boehme-Newell (not available in Spring 2025). See the flyers included below for more information on each of these courses.
