Around 400 students, faculty, and staff attended the Department of Political Science’s traditional Election Night Watch Party on November 5, 2024, at George’s in the LBJ Student Center. Live news coverage of election results from multiple sources played on screens throughout the room. KTSW broadcasted from the back of the room and interviewed attendees.
Students mingled with faculty, participated in a game of trivia, an electoral map prediction game, and various raffles throughout the night. Prizes included gift cards to local restaurants and shops as well as departmental swag like t-shirts, water bottles, wireless phone chargers, and stickers. They also enjoyed pizza, cookies, and other snacks throughout the evening.
Zoe Kulas, a graduate student in public administration, said, “It was a great opportunity for people in attendance to keep up with the election while enjoying snacks and games with their friends and other students.”
