History of Women in Politics Examined at SWIPS General Meeting

On October 22nd, 20 people attended a general meeting of Supporting Women in Political Science (SWIPS). The meeting began with announcements about upcoming events hosted by SWIPS and by the Department of Political Science. The officers transitioned to the meeting’s topic, which was the history of women in political offices. They focused on key figures, including but not limited to Sandra Day O’Connor, Sonia Sotomayor, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Kamala Harris.

SWIPS is a nonpartisan women’s organization at Texas State University dedicated to helping political science majors and other students explore the various aspects of political science, enabling them to pursue their professional and academic interests. SWIPS meets every other Tuesday at 6:30PM in THH 428.
